Did that get your attention? Someone around here has been losing teeth right and left & the tooth fairy is running low on cash...lol! It's really hard to get Timothy to slow down for even a second to snap a photo but I was determined last night. Crappy iphone photo but there it is. He's in second grade this year and growing like a weed! I sent him to school today wearing major flood pants (do they even call them that anymore?!). I was looking for my seam ripper just to quickly make them longer but of course I didn't find it until after he left. Oh well, I'll do it tonight!
Well, ye olde blog is looking a tad dusty from lack of use. This is my blogiversary month (7 years), & I've been harboring serious thoughts of just deleting the whole thing but can't bring myself to do it...yet. Anywho, the whole facebook thing seems to have changed blogging for me since I feel like everyone has already heard whatever I think about posting. I do love reading other people's blogs especially the crafty ones. I adore Ravelry too as my knitting queue grows and grows with all the patterns I want to knit. Goodreads is another time suck where my list of books to read expands (see list link on left side of my blog). Sometimes I wish that I were like Martha Stewart and required only 4 hours of sleep (or something like that).
Here's something I haven't shared with the world at large yet...I'm helping with a little 3rd grade knitting club at my kiddos' school. Thankfully I am not *in charge* but simply show up to help. They meet once a week after school for an hour. It's fun! So far we've taught them the knit stitch and they are working on squares that will be sewn into a baby blanket that will be donated to a local hospital. The goal of the group is to make little baby hats that will be donated to Save the Children foundation's Caps for Good. I've made one so far, but one teacher has made at least 7 as of last week.
Ta da...

Caps for Good #1

Both of my girls are knitters now (yay for new converts!) and are also helping with the club and making squares and hats. It's such a small thing to do but those wee caps can make such a difference! There's a Ravelry group too so all you knitters out there go make a cap! If you are a local knitter, please feel free to give your caps to me and they can be sent with the ones our little school club makes. Thanks!
