Some of our favorite Jersey girls at the local dairy...

We celebrated the end of school there yesterday with some fabulous ice cream made from the milk of these beauties! Hurray for summer!!!

Here's a peek at one of my favorite new knits. This was the second newborn vest. I love this (free!) pattern and have already cast on for a third since there are several more babies arriving soon! I might just make a few extra to have on hand for the future. Thankful for my stash of cotton-ease yarn!

Wonderful restful day today! Just had breakfast for dinner: pancakes with strawberries, bacon, hash browns. Yum! Now onto knitting a small something or other (yep, more secrets!) and catching up on Downton Abbey!

I had a fun morning at Wegmans knitting* and gabbing with Cindy. Always enjoy talking about knits, beer, books, food...and the list goes on with Cindy! She recommended a documentary about beer (Beer Wars) that I can't wait to check out via Netflix streaming.

Oh man, where did the time go??? I didn't mean to take such a looonnnggg break from blogging (again)...sigh...SO are you ready? It's almost time for Every Day in February again!!! Yes, I know, you doubt I can hack it this year but a girl has to try! I need to dust off my real camera too and take some better photos. I have really gotten into the iphone camera habit and the photos might be fun & timely, but they are not printable most of the time. Like this one of my cutie pie Lukas who was a happy camper to get his new mama-made orange sweater at last! (Ravelry link -yes, it took me a YEAR to knit it...)

Anywho...get ready for some February blog action! Excited?!!!

Autumn: when the knitting is easy...

Finally starting to feel like autumn & the knitting needles are flying around here! I tend to knit like I read: many varied books/projects to suit every reading/knitting occassion. Must have a simple project to carry around to various kid functions & appointments and right now that's a simple garter stitch scarf using Blue Moon sock yarn & #3 circulars. I call it my School Store Scarf cause I get the most done on it when I work the school store each Friday. I have lots of kids stopping by just to see how long the scarf has grown each week. It's accompanied me to the Roller Derby too!

My current favorite project is my Autmnal Lacey Baktus (pictured below) knitted up in Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball Stärke 6. It's been such fun watching all the different colors emerge. I am finally to the halfway decreasing part. This project is my on the couch watching tv project requiring slightly more attention.

Several other projects in the works but since some are going to be gifted then I must keep them under wraps for now. Hey,  today happens to be a monumental day too since I am wearing my first pair of WOOL socks of the season - - -woot! In case you're wondering which ones, here they are!
