We are the lucky landlords of a bee swarm in our "fruit salad" tree. They've been there since sometime in July so I think they are turning into permanent residents. Even Irene's visit hasn't dissuaded them in there residence. She did do a bit of damage to their hive though as evidenced by the pieces of honeycomb we discovered in the tree and on the ground below. They have helped with our garden so we welcome them.
Today is Labor Day, and I am doing as little laboring as possible. Which reminds me that I put some laundry in several hours ago and promptly forgot about it. (back in a sec...) I've been listening to Blind Pilot's new album courtesy of NPR's first listen (good through 9/13) over and over and over...such goodness (the headphones help drown out the children too-heh heh). Hubby is grilling in between the raindrops. I had him wrap up two butternut squashes to bake for an hour or so...thought I could use them for soup either later this week or freeze for later date. He just finished some bbq chicken legs for later in the week when I have a school function and not much time to get these people fed-yay!
~*~*~~ Happy Labor Day to you & yours! ~~*~*~
