I know. It's miraculous that I am blogging. Anywho, I started this scarf at the beginning of August and took it on our trip to Ohio. It's been such a relaxing brainless knit. I got the idea for it from Susan B. Anderson's blog (thx, Susan!). I am using Socks that Rock lightweight in Ruby Slippers (love love love this color) that my husband got me for Christmas a couple years ago. This is going to be one lonnnnng scarf and I love that! I took this photo with my iPhone while waiting in the car line at my kiddos' school. Ravelry link for this project here (public link).
Even though it is 90 degrees here on the first day of fall (sob), I have been fixated on soup the past month. I made one new-to-me soup that was a hit with my family and one that I've made before that they already love. The new one is Amanda Soule's version of cream of broccoli soup. Such a simple and delicious soup and good for you too! I will admit that my kiddos added a smidge more cream to theirs (okay, me too). yum! The other soup is potato leek soup that is rich and lovely. This last time I made it I doubled everything but the leeks & butter since we had an abundance of potatoes in our backyard. The only thing I do diferently is to puree the soup with my immersion blender to make it smooth. My sister-in-law, Kris who lives in Romania (hi Kris!) was the one who told me about this recipe last year so I am forever in her debt. My children love to take soup in their school lunches so the leftovers go quickly around here, but I did manage to save myself the last spoonfuls for my lunch yesterday...mmm!
Happy autumn, friends!!!!
