Greetings from frosty eastern PA! We've had some very crazy weather here lately. Last Monday it was 80 and now it's 37! Yikes! Had to drag out the winter coats for the kiddos. I sewed their little name labels in their coats and hats last night so they won't lose them at nursery school. If you're ever looking for nice name labels, here's where I got mine: Name Maker, Inc. .
Just in time for this frigid blast, I finished knitting the Ann Norling spiral rib hat for Lydia (she's 4). I used Plymouth Encore 2426 ivy blue mix and really like how it turned out. I made one for Frances (she's 3) a week ago using Plymouth Encore Colorspun 7302 gumball twist (love that name!). I'll have to get a snap of the two of them together to post.
I cast on for my first pair of mittens last night while watching Carnivale (not the easiest show to watch while knitting!). I'm using the mitten pattern in Ann Budd's Handy Book of Patterns (finally bought it after checking it out from the library a bazillion times). I've only used dpn's for hat before so it took me a bit to get the hang of using them for the mittens. This pair is for Frances using the same yarn as her hat. I plan to do a pair for dd1 too if I like how the first pair turns out.
Thanks to all who have left comments! It's very encouraging!
Gotta go pick the munchkins up from nursery school!
